At the heart of a new vision for improving the health of a working age population is the prevention of illness and the promotion of health and wellbeing. Recent reports show that we are living longer but we are far from being healthy. All the indicators are that our physical and mental health problems are increasing and there is significant burden on employers employees and taxpayers.

A review of the research on health and wellbeing initiatives in workplace based programmes has found considerable benefits across all sectors that good health is good business. As you may already know, Dr Steven Boorman, Dame Carol Black, Stephen Bevan (The Work Foundation), Lord Freud (Minister for Department of Works and Pensions) are reprioritising government spending towards improved means of rehabilitation and employability. They are promoting much more innovative models of Occupational Health staffing and support to provide such – with a very strong bio-psychosocial basis and emphasis on the role of OH and employers in supporting people back into the workplace. The future of occupational health and how it can become dramatically more effective in organisations, in workplaces, with employees and with society is very clearly set out in Dame Carol Black’s groundbreaking report on the health and wellbeing of the UK workforce. The recommendations in this work aim to improve the general health and wellbeing of the working age population and to support more people with health conditions to stay in work, or enter employment.

To this end we are offering workplaces rehabilitation packages which include assessment of both your physical and psychological health problems and recommendations for treatment to your manager.
